US cloud software firm Pax8 opens high-tech office in Bristol

A US cloud software company has opened a new office in central Bristol as part of major expansion plans. Pax8, which is headquartered in Colorado, has moved its staff into The Distillery on Avon Street.

The company said the opening of the Bristol office was designed to "further propel" the significant growth the business has experienced over the past two years across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In July, the firm said it had achieved 800% year-on-year growth since choosing Bristol as one of its flagship offices.

The new high-tech office has a number of multi-purpose break-out rooms that can be used by any member of staff; a state-of-the-art boardroom; a wellness room; a virtual reality (VR) space; a bar and kitchen; and games area with air hockey, table tennis and an X-box.

“It’s such an exciting time for Pax8 as we continue to expand across EMEA,” said John Street, chief executive and founder of Pax8. “Our presence in Bristol has opened so many doors to our success, and those prospects will only continue to grow with our fantastic new office. We also look forward to welcoming our partners and vendors to the space, which will generate further opportunities for collaboration and creativity in the channel.”

Earlier this year, Pax8 opened a new office in Zwolle, Netherlands, with the same employee-centric philosophy in mind.

“Pax8 places a high value on diversity and inclusion at every level of the business,” said Chloe Cameron, chief people officer at Pax8 EMEA. “In the new office, we’re creating an environment to foster a high-performing team culture that celebrates the individual, allowing our colleagues to be their authentic selves and perform at their best.”

Earlier this year, Pax8 raised $185m in new equity capital from investor SoftBank Vision Fund 2, which it said increased its valuation to $1.7bn. Pax8’s number of partners is now close to 3,500 within EMEA, after supporting more than 350,000 businesses.
