President Donald Trump's negotiating team has been praised as 'great problem-solvers' by Russia's sovereign wealth fund chief, Kirill Dmitriev, who is currently in Saudi Arabia for bilateral talks with the United States. Talks between the US and Russia regarding the war in Ukraine are scheduled to commence on Tuesday, with Dmitriev already having met with several members of the Trump team in Riyadh.
Dmitriev expressed confidence in the problem-solving abilities of the US negotiators, particularly President Trump, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and finding the best solutions for all countries involved and the global community at large. While no direct promises have been made by the US negotiators to their Russian counterparts, the focus remains on fostering constructive dialogue and cooperation.

Contrary to speculation, Dmitriev denied that Russia's primary objective is to alleviate sanctions, instead highlighting the mutual economic benefits that could arise from enhanced collaboration between the US and Russia. He stressed the significance of building bridges and strengthening US-Russia relations for the betterment of the world.
Dmitriev's role in the negotiations stems from his appointment by the Kremlin to concentrate on revitalizing economic ties between the US and Russia in the context of forging a potential Russia-Ukraine peace agreement. Recent collaborations with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have underscored Dmitriev's involvement in facilitating diplomatic efforts, including the successful release of American teacher Marc Fogel from Russia.
