
Following extensive talks in Saudi Arabia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the United States and Russia have agreed on four key principles to address ongoing diplomatic issues:
1. Reestablishing the functionality of their respective missions in Washington and Moscow to ensure normal diplomatic operations.
2. Appointing a high-level team from the US to assist in negotiating an enduring and acceptable resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.



3. Initiating discussions on the potential geopolitical and economic cooperation that could arise from resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
4. Committing to ongoing engagement among the key stakeholders to ensure progress in the diplomatic process.
The five individuals involved in these discussions were US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
