Online banking services for one of the UK's largest banks went down on Friday night.
HSBC customers reported that their cards had declined in supermarkets and restaurants, with some having to leave collateral for their meals. It had confirmed the outage at 10.30pm on Friday night, Hull Live reports.
Some users posting on Twitter said they had been unable to use the service since 8pm. One upset customer posted: "This is ridiculous. I had to walk out of the supermarket without my shopping as my card was declined and the ATM rejected my card as well.
