Urgent search to find missing Ayrshire man who vanished after leaving property

Police have launched an urgent search to find a missing man last seen leaving a property in Ayrshire early this morning.

Andrew Linton, 43, left the Corsehill area of Kilwinning at around 5.35am and hasn't been spotted since. He is believed to have left an address on foot.

Police say this behaviour is out of character for Andrew and are appealing for members of the public to help trace him.

Andrew is described as around 5ft 6ins tall and of stocky build. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, a light coloured beanie hat, black trousers and black boots.

Police say he may be wearing a grey hooded jumper and be in possession of a rucksack.

Inspector Alex Beagrie from Irvine Police Station said: “Andrew speaks with a local accent and is local to the Kilwinning area.

"This behaviour is out of character for him and we have a number of police resources out looking for Andrew.

“I’d ask anyone who may have seen him, or a man matching his description, since shortly after 5.30am this morning to get in touch and report any sightings so we can investigate.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 0514 of 22 February.
