Urgent search launched for teen, 15, missing from Lanarkshire home

Police have launched a search for a teen missing from the Strathaven area.

John Farr, 15, was last seen near the Common Green in Strathaven at around 6.30pm on Wednesday. He’s known to frequent the East Kilbride, Hamilton, Strathaven and Clydesdale areas and has been missing overnight.

The teen is described as white, 5’11” and of a slim build with curly brown hair. He was last spotted wearing a black and white shirt, blue jeans and Converse trainers.

Officers are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to get in touch.

Sergeant Gary Mackie of the East Kilbride Police Station said: “Officers have been carrying out significant enquiries since John was reported missing but so far he has not been located and no one has confirmed any sightings of him since leaving home.

“We would like to appeal to anyone who may be able to provide any information regarding John’s whereabouts or potential sightings that will assist us in tracing him. I would also ask John himself to get in contact with friends, family, support services or police.”

Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 3276 of September 21.
