Cops have launched a frantic search for a teenage girl who vanished yesterday morning in Fife.

Caitlin Doherty, 14, was reported missing from the Kilrenny area in the North East of Fife at around 11.50am on Monday, December 20.

Officers believe the teen may have travelled to Edinburgh.

Caitlin is around 5ft3in tall, of slim build, and has blue eyes and reddish/brown hair that sits just below her shoulder. She also has a scar on her forehead.

When last seen, the schoolgirl was believed to be wearing a cream jumper and a pair of white Nike trainers. She also may be wearing glasses.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Concern is growing for her welfare and we would ask anyone with information to please contact 101, quoting reference 1223."
