Urgent search launched for 12-year-old boy missing from Paisley home

An urgent appeal has been launched to trace a 12-year-old boy reported missing from Paisley.

Stuart Anderson was last seen in ASDA at the Phoenix Retail Park in Linwood Road at around 9.30pm last night (Friday, February 25).

Police Scotland is now appealing for help from the public to trace the youngster, saying they are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

Stuart is described as white, around 5ft 8 inches in height, with a slim build and short brown hair. When last seen, he was wearing a black hooded rain jacket and dark, grey coloured jogging trousers and black trainers.

Officers are in the process of checking CCTV footage for any additional information it could provide on Stuart's whereabouts.

Sergeant Stephen Knox said: Stuart's family is understandably worried and given his age, our concern is also growing. I am appealing to anyone who has seen Stuart or who has any information as to his whereabouts to contact us. Everyone just wants to know he is safe and well."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1714 of 25 February, 2022.

UPDATE: Stuart Anderson has been traced safe and well.
