Urgent search launched after teen vanishes in Aberdeen

An urgent search has been launched after a 15-year-old boy vanished in Aberdeen.

Officers say Deandre Thompson, 15, from London, is believed to have travelled to Aberdeen last month. Deandre left his home in Croydon on Wednesday, 24 August and enquiries so far have found that he travelled to Aberdeen, possibly by train, and was in the Union Square area around 8.25am on Thursday, 25 August.

Deandre is known to be in the city centre that day but it is not known where he went next. He is described as 5ft 9ins, of slim build with black hair.

On arrival in Aberdeen he was wearing a distinctive grey Superdry top with the words Superdry and Apollo on the front in white lettering. He was also wearing black trousers.

Deandre was carrying a black rucksack and wears an earring in his left ear.

Sergeant Stuart Hache urged anyone with information to come forward.

He said: “Deandre has been missing from his home for some time now and concerns are growing for his welfare. I am urging anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to get in touch.

“If you can help please call us on 101, quoting reference number 1296 of Saturday, 3 September, 2022.”
