Urgent search for missing pensioner with dementia as concern grows for welfare

An urgent search has been launched for a missing pensioner with dementia as concern grows for his welfare.

Francis Young, also known as Frank, has been reported missing from the Burnbank Terrace area of Glasgow.

The 78-year-old was last seen on Burnbank Terrace around 10pm on Friday, January 6, and there are significant concerns for his welfare.

He is described as being white, around 5ft 6, with grey/red short hair and a moustache and glasses.

Frank may be wearing a green parker-style jacket and a bracelet with his name and address on it, due to being a dementia sufferer.

Police are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to get in touch.

Inspector Gordon Murphy said: “Given the amount of time Frank has been missing and the fact of his dementia, we are growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

"We ask anyone with any information on his whereabouts to call police on 101, quoting incident 1205 of 7 January.”
