Urgent search for elderly dementia sufferer who vanished from Scots town

An urgent search has been launched for an elderly dementia sufferer who vanished from a West Lothian town.

John Wilson was last seen in the Westfield Farm area of Bathgate at around 11.45 on Tuesday, 30 May.

Officers are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of the missing man and have asked for the public's assistance.

The 79-year-old is described as being around 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build with balding grey hair and a grey beard.

John was last seen wearing a pink polo shirt, navy shorts and black Sketchers trainers.

Inspector David MacMillan said: “Concerns are growing for John’s welfare and we want to make sure his is safe and well.

“Please get in touch if you have seen John today or know of his whereabouts.”

Anyone with information that could help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 3575 of Tuesday, 30 May, 2023.
