Urgent police appeal over missing man who left hospital after fall

Police have issued an urgent appeal for the public's help to trace a missing man.

Simon Thompson was visiting family in Halifax from Manchester when police said he fell in the town centre.

Mr Thompson, who is 40, attended hospital as a result, police said.

Greater Manchester Police said he left hospital shortly after midnight - but hasn't been seen since.

It's not known whether he has returned to Manchester.

The north Manchester division of GMP today shared an appeal on social media and a photograph of Mr Thompson.

They said he attended Calderdale Hospital in Halifax on Thursday and left in the early hours of Friday.

"He has failed to return back to Manchester.

"He has fallen over in Halifax town centre and as a result of this he has attended Calderdale hospital, Halifax.

"Simon was last seen leaving hospital at 00:30 hrs on Friday 21st January.

"He was wearing a multi coloured woolly hat, blue jeans, a black coat with a red lining in the hood and a fur trim, and black and white trainers.
