Urgent appeal to trace man missing six days after vanishing near Scots hospital

Police have launched an urgent appeal to try and trace a man who vanished from Paisley six days ago.

Barry McCullagh, from Castlemilk, was last seen around 5.20pm on Wednesday, October 5, near to the Royal Alexandra Hospital on Corsebar Road.

Cops describe the 40-year-old as 5ft9in tall, of a medium build, with short, black hair. When last seen, Barry was wearing black and navy jogging trousers, a black jacket, and grey and white trainers.

Officers are asking members of the public in Paisley to check outbuildings and sheds in a bid to help trace him

Sergeant Will Thomson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace Barry and we are continuing to appeal to the public for assistance.

“We do not believe Barry will have travelled far and would urge people who live in the area to check outbuildings and sheds.

“A large police presence will remain in the area as searches continue.”

Anyone with any information on Barry’s whereabouts is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3910 of October 5, 2022.
