Urgent appeal issued to find teenage boy last seen more than 24 hours ago

Police have issued an urgent appeal to find a missing teenager who was last seen in a Stockport suburb more than 24 hours ago. Greater Manchester Police says Rio was spotted on Hill Top Drive, in Marple, at 6am yesterday (August 24).

The 15-year-old has not been seen since. Rio, whose surname has not been given by GMP, is described as being around 6ft tall and of a large build. GMP says Rio is mixed race and has light brown curly hair.

Officers say they are becoming 'increasingly concerned' about the teenager's welfare. Anyone who sees Rio or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the force as soon as possible.

In a post shared on GMP's Facebook page this afternoon (Thursday), a spokesperson for the force said: "Can you help us find Rio from Stockport? He's 15 and was last seen on Hill Top Drive in Marple yesterday morning.

"Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about him and want to make sure he is safe and well." Anyone with information about Rio's location is asked to contact GMP by calling 0161 856 9761 or report it online, quoting log number 1308 of August 24, 2022.
