Urgent appeal for Glasgow tradesmen to prove homeless welfare centre dream can come true

A Glasgow charity has launched an appeal for tradesmen as they look to prove that their 24 hour welfare centre dream is possible.

Homeless Project Scotland are currently speaking to a landlord regarding a potential base in the city centre, however, they need to demonstrate that their vision for the building is possible.

They have been asked to show that they have a group of volunteers, tradesmen, professionals and general labourers dedicated to completing the project.

The charity have been on the look out for a building and hope this potential location could solve all their problems.

A spokesperson from the Homeless Project Scotland told Glasgow Live: "We have a potential building that we are in discussions with a landlord about.

"We now want to get a group of labourers, contractors, companies to come together and offer materials and labour to refurbish any building we can secure in the coming months.

"We are putting this workforce together to prove to the landlord that we do have a team behind us that can bring this project to life. The aim is to create Scotland's first 24 hour welfare centre.

"This will bring people indoors and give them hope."
