Urgent appeal as Irish family including heavily pregnant mum and two young children go missing

An urgent appeal has been issued for an Irish family missing from Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police say they have "concerns for their welfare" after a heavily pregnant mum, her husband and their two young children vanished.

Mum Charlene Collins is aged 26 and said by the force to be heavily pregnant. Her husband Martin Collins, 29, and their children - named by police as Martin aged three and two-year-old Kathleen - have all been reported as missing.

They were last seen around the Rochdale Road area of north Manchester on Friday, April 22. Details have only just been revealed by GMP, who have shared photographs of Charlene and Martin as part of an appeal, Manchester Evening News reports.

Police said they speak with strong Irish accents and had only recently come to Manchester from Ireland.

Police are now asking for the public's help to make sure they are safe. Anyone seeing them is urged to contact police.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Missing appeal for the Collins family. Charlene Collins 26 years and Martin Collins 29 years and their children – Martin aged 3 and Kathleen aged 2 years have been reported missing.

"They were last seen around the Rochdale Road area of Manchester, M9 on Friday 22nd April 2022. Charlene is heavily pregnant and there are concerns for their welfare. Police are asking if you have seen or come into contact with this family that you notify the police.

"They speak with strong Irish accents, and possibly could have left the Manchester area. They are originally from Ireland and have recently come to Manchester but may have left the area and could have travelled down south. They have connections to Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Suffolk and now the North West."
