In back-to-back years, the Eagles’ general manager has been able to secure a future first-round pick while parting with minimal draft capital or assets.
On Monday Philadelphia gave New Orleans two 2022 first-round picks (Nos. 16 and 19 overall) and a 2022 sixth-round pick (No. 194), in exchange for a 2022 first-round pick (No. 18 overall), New Orleans’ 2023 first-round pick, New Orleans’ 2024 second-round pick, a 2022 third-round pick (No. 101 overall) and a 2022 seventh-round pick (No. 237 overall).
The move gives the Eagles draft capital for 2023 while maintaining three of the first 51 overall picks in this month’s draft and five of the top 101.
