The top 100 of the 2022 NFL draft has been shaken up a few times this offseason due to the many blockbuster trades that have been made, and the Miami Dolphins just added to the fun on Wednesday. They agreed to trade five draft picks to the Kansas City Chiefs for wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who they then gave a four-year, $120 million extension.
Three of those picks are in this year’s draft, with the other two coming in 2023, but it still puts a significant dent in the Dolphins’ capital this offseason. They’ll be sending the Chiefs a first-round pick (No. 29), a second-round pick (No. 50) and a fourth-rounder (No. 121 or 125) this year, as well as fourth- and sixth-rounders in 2023.
Here’s an updated look at the Dolphins’ picks in the upcoming draft after acquiring Hill.
- Round 3: No. 102 (from 49ers)
- Round 4: No. 121 or 125 (from Steelers)
- Round 5: No. 158
- Round 7: No. 224 (from Texans through Patriots and Ravens)
- Round 7: No. 247 (from Titans)
The Dolphins won’t make a pick until No. 102 overall, which is at the end of the third round. That means they’ll have Thursday night off and most of Friday night until they finally come on the clock late in Round 3.
In total, they’ll have five picks, but none of them will be in the top 100.
