One of Nottingham's most popular events is set to return this summer after a two-year absence. The Riverside Festival was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.
The festival, which takes places on Victoria Embankment, will be staged on Friday August 5 to Sunday August 7. The 2020 event would have been its 40th anniversary.
In 2019, the Riverside Festival attracted around 220,000 visitors. Highlights usually include a mile-long fun fair, two music stages, various river-based activities, food and drink stalls, and a Saturday night firework display.
Nothing but the date for 2022 has been announced so far but council spokesperson said further details about the event will be revealed in due course.
It follows the news that Goose Fair will also return this year with a ten-day event at the Forest Recreation Ground, from Friday September 30 to Sunday October 9.
