It was initially reported on Wednesday morning that cornerback J.C. Jackson would not be available for the Chargers’ season opener against the Raiders.
However, head coach Brandon Staley said at the media availability that Jackson’s walking boot is off. He ran on the field yesterday and is “day-to-day.”
Staley added that no decision has been made yet on whether Jackson will play Sunday against Las Vegas.
Jackson underwent a minor procedure on his ankle on Aug. 23.
Initially, Staley said that the estimated timetable for his return to play would be approximately two to four weeks, but it was dependent on how fast the wound would heal.
It would be great news if Jackson is able to play, as the Raiders possess arguably the league’s best wide receivers in Davante Adams.
