Upcoming PSVR 2 Games: New PlayStation VR2 games for 2024 and beyond

Upcoming PSVR 2 games: a screenshot of Potboy smiling during the new game, The Midnight Walk. .

Our list of upcoming PSVR 2 games is steadily growing. From a zombie shooter to Alien VR games, and PSVR 2 exclusives, there's a lot to look forward to in 2024 and beyond.

Whether you're new to PlayStation's homegrown VR headset or are upgrading your PSVR with the latest model, there's plenty here to enhance your PS5 experience. Some titles are receiving a free VR upgrade for owners of the first model, and we can expect new releases to abound on top of these. With internal eye-tracking cameras, haptic feedback, and a greater field of view, the PSVR 2 takes everything we love about immersive gaming and supercharges it.

A whole host of titles are already available on the device (read our list of the best PSVR 2 games for more on those), but let's take a look at what to expect from these upcoming PSVR 2 games.

New PSVR 2 games in 2024

Arizona Sunshine Remake

Developer: Vertigo Games
Release date: October 17, 2024

Ever wanted to play one of the best zombie games in VR? Well, the upcoming Arizona Sunshine remake is here to answer your prayers. Coming out on October 17, you'll get to experience the award-winning game like never before, thanks to next-gen VR combat and amazing graphics. We have high hopes for this one, and can't wait to see it for ourselves later this spooky season.

Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate

Developer: Mighty Eyes
Release date:
October 31, 2024

Originally released on the original PSVR, Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate is a time-traveling adventure that's now coming to PSVR 2 this October. You'll be skipping through time as you try to rewrite the past to shape the future. There are drum solos to be had and Last of Us style combat, too, so it looks like a great one to keep on your radar.

Metro Awakening

Developer: Vertigo Games
Release date:
November 7, 2024

Metro Awakening is the series' first foray into VR, and it's doing so by delivering an all-new prequel story written by Metro series author and creator Dmitry Glukhovsky. It's specifically a prequel to Metro 2033, where you play a doctor called Serdar, attempting to reunite with his wife by traversing the mutant-ridden tunnels beneath Moscow. We got our first look at the game during PlayStation's State of Play showcase, and it looks stunning!

Behemoth

Developer: Skydance Interactive
Release date:
November 14, 2024

This is essentially Shadow of the Colossus from the makers of Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. You're already in, right? In Behemoth, you'll have to take down giant behemoths, navigate harsh environments and, ultimately, live to tell the tale. Your adventures across the Forsaken Lands certainly don't sound like they'll be easy, with human enemies as well as gigantic foes to contend with.

Alien: Rogue Incursion

Developer: Survios
Release date: December 19, 2024

Instead of rewatching all the Alien movies in order, you can now live out the sci-fi horror for yourself with the upcoming PSVR 2 game, Alien: Rogue Incursion. As you explore the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility, you'll have to face deadly Xenomorphs in this action title. It's the typical Alien formula storywise, but like most horror fans, we still love that survival horror premise and can't wait to see some Facehuggers come December.

TBC 2024

Hitman World of Assassination

Developer: IO Interactive
Release date: December 2024

We know that Hitman is coming to VR in December this year, we just don't know the exact date just yet. Still, fans can look forward to carrying out hits and pointing loaded guns at targets with their own hands with the upcoming release of Hitman World of Assassination.

Low-Fi

Developer: Iris VR
Release date: TBC 2024

Low-Fi looks really cool, with the game specifically designed for VR thanks to its holodeck-inspired features. You play as the sheriff of a cyberpunk slum called cityblock 303 where the only other citizens are the titular low-fi - aka humans too poor to jack into the city's platforms. How you spend your time in cityblock 303 is up to you, as this open world is completely non-linear.

TBC 2025

The Midnight Walk

Developer: MoonHood
Release date: TBC 2025

The Midnight Walk is perhaps one of the most visually exciting and creative games on this list. Built-in clay, you'll get to explore a dark fantasy world as you work to survive several monsters who are hell-bent on extinguishing the flame of your lantern-headed friend, Potboy. The landscapes, character designs, and overall vibe of The Midnight Walk look amazing, as well as incredibly eerie. This isn't just one of our most anticipated upcoming PSVR 2 games; it is also on our radar as one of the best upcoming horror games in 2025, period.

TBC

Aces of Thunder

Developer: Gaijin Games
Release date:
TBC

Take to the skies with Aces of Thunder, an aerial combat game that takes its flight and damage models from War Thunder. That means you should get quite the epic airborne battles, with immersion the number one focus thanks to cockpit views and complete control over all the flight systems.
