Upcoming games for Cardinals could get flexed to prime time

The Arizona Cardinals only had one game scheduled to be in prime time on national television this season. That game already happened in Week 7 when they played the L.A. Chargers at home on Monday night.

After their Week 11 bye week, it is possible for them to see one of their upcoming games moved to Sunday night or Monday night.

The NFL can flex games to Sunday night beginning in Week 11 and Monday night in Week 12 at its discretion up through Week 17. The change must happen at least 12 days ahead of the game.

One game was already flexed to Sunday night in Week 11. Colts-Jets was originally to be played on Sunday night. That was moved to 1 p.m. ET. The Sunday night game will now be Bengals Chargers.

So which games might the Cardinals see moved?

We can skip their games against the Seattle Seahawks in Weeks 12 and 14 because the Seahawks have lost five of their last six. We can skip their games in Week 15 and 16 against New England and Carolina.

That leaves Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings and Week 17 against the L.A. Rams.

In Week 13, the Sunday night game is 49ers-Bills. That is a marquee matchup, a potential Super Bowl preview, so that won’t move. But the Monday night game is Browns-Broncos.

Cardinals-Vikings would feature two teams currently in the playoff race.

In Week 17, the Sunday night game is Dolphins-Browns, which might get moved. The Cardinals’ Week 17 game has not been scheduled yet. It could be on Saturday or Sunday that week.

The Monday night game is Lions-49ers, so don’t expect that to change.

So keep an eye on that game against the Vikings. By the middle of next week we will know whether it will remain a 1 p.m. ET Sunday game or whether it gets moved to Monday night.
