Up to £30,000 of alcohol has been seized from a shop just nine days after having its licence terminated.
Alcohol worth between £20,000 and £30,000 has been seized from Ormskirk Superstore on Aughton Street in the West Lancashire town. The seizure comes after the hearing at West Lancashire Borough Council in January which revoked its licence to sell alcohol when the shop was reported a number of times selling alcohol beyond authorised hours and selling tobacco to underage children.
As of February 27, the shop was no longer allowed to sell alcohol. Despite this, on Friday, March 10, after reports that the shop continued to sell alcohol, Lancashire Police seized around £20,000 - £30,000 worth of alcohol.

A number of non-compliant e-cigarettes were also seized by Lancashire Trading Standards as a result.
PC Ste Connolly, from the south licensing team, said: "We welcome the revocation decision; it helps us to provide long-term solutions in tackling ASB. I would like to remind other licensed premises of their obligations to uphold the Licensing Objectives and to contact us or the local authority licensing team if they have any queries"
If you have any concerns over premises that sell alcohol please get in touch with police by emailing SouthLicensing@lancashire.police.uk.
