Kanpur: Income Tax (IT) Department has taken major action against vegetable oil manufacturing company Mayur Group. Many locations of Mayur Group are being raided by several IT teams since Thursday morning. More than 100 officers are involved in this raid under heavy police deployment.
Sources say that this raid is being conducted in a case related to income tax evasion of more than Rs1000cr.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the Income Tax team reached the premises of Mayur Group early on Thursday morning and started searches simultaneously at about 35 premises.
Apart from the oil businessman's residence, the Income Tax Department is raiding the company's corporate office, factory in Kanpur Dehat and Civil Lines locations. Related documents are being scrutinized.

Besides Kanpur unit, there are also reports of raids at locations in Orai, Modinagar and Delhi.
Mayur Group is a company dealing in the business of manufacturing vegetable oil, food items and packaging. Earlier also a raid was conducted against Mayur Group on December 30, 2021.
