Basti: Five persons were killed and three others were seriously injured when a car collided with a container in the city area of Basti district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the car collided with the container near Gotwa on the Basti-Ayodhya national highway.

"Prem Chandra Paswan, Shiv Raj, Shakeel, Vishwajeet, and an unidentified person were killed on the spot in the incident. "Three injured have been admitted to the hospital, where their condition is stated to be serious," they said.
Police sources said that Prem Chandra Paswan was a businessman. "He has a company in Gujarat. The age of all the deceased is between 25 to 40 years. These people were coming from Gujarat while driving continuously. In such a situation, it is suspected that due to drowsiness, the driver was not able to remain alert, and a strong collision took place," they said.
