Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Tuesday quashed OBC reservation in civic body elections as proposed by the UP government.

According to HC verdict all seats reserved for OBCs will now be considered general. Further High Court also issued instructions to conduct the elections immediately.

High Court also recommended that a dedicated commission should be formed to give reservations to OBCs,  only then OBC reservations should be given.
