Rumors are spreading about a possible Until Dawn 2 game following the leak of new endings added in the Until Dawn remake.
The original game was released in 2015 but the upcoming remake by developer Ballistic Moon is set to launch on Oct. 4, 2024. Some people got their copies a little bit earlier and basically leaked the entire game.
Possible Until Dawn 2
The remake has a lot of changes that the studio previously announced and showcased to the public. These include revised cinematography that mixes fixed and over-the-shoulder camera views. It also has new accessibility and usability settings.
But the recent leaks also shared post-credit scenes that add new endings as well as teasing a potential sequel. In Until Dawn, players take control of eight characters to see their story through until they survive or die, according to IGN.
The two scenes that were leaked come at the end of both of Josh and Sam's "good" endings. The former is the smaller of the two and clears up some of the ambiguity surrounding his own ending in the original game.
Many consider his story the most tragic even with his positive outcome showing him taken by his sister turned spindly murdering monster. But the Until Dawn remake seemingly puts a more definitive and hopeful alternative.
The ending shows Josh in isolation but he is still human. You can also hear a voice-over from the character's psychiatrist, Dr. Alan Hill. The latter hints at redemption for the character that players see, Polygon said.
New Leaked Ending Scenes
Furthermore, a new epilogue that is set "some years later" after the events of the game shifts its focus to Sam. The character is seen living in Los Angeles and is shown waking up from restless sleep.
On her nightstand are some medications and a book titled "Creature Myths of the Great Plains." It seems like Same was studying up on her mythological creatures and could be seen suffering from a wound of some sort.
Many fans are taking the leaked scenes as potential hints that a sequel for Until Dawn is on the way and will come sometime in the future. The situation comes as a movie based on the video game is currently in production.
This makes it extremely possible for Sony to be doubling down on the series to include a remake, a film, and a sequel. While rumors are spreading, there is no official confirmation about an Until Dawn remake, so take them with a grain of salt, according to Push Square.
