Unseen clip shows new goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel loving life at Celtic

Kasper Schmeichel has enjoyed something of a comfortable start to his Celtic career two games into the new Scottish Premiership season.

The highly experienced No.1 has faced just two shots on target, both of which came in the 4-0 victory over Kilmarnock.

Hibernian clipped the bar yesterday with one of their four shots off target, but couldn't actually force the Denmark international into a save at Easter Road.

The former Manchester City, Leeds United and Leicester City keeper signed on a free this summer as Brendan Rodgers replaced Joe Hart with another safe pair of hands. He joined on a one-year deal.

The Hoops have started the domestic campaign strongly, scoring six - and it could have been more - while conceding none.

Nicolas Kuhn bagged the opener after only three minutes in the capital yesterday, while skipper Callum McGregor rounded off the scoring within the opening 20 minutes.

While Schmeichel hasn't had much to do so far in terms of his own job in the team, it's clear from this unseen footage that he's loving life at Celtic.

As his teammates kept the ball alive in the Hibs box up the other end of the pitch, the 37-year-old could be seen waiting around his own penalty area in anticipation of the ball hitting the back of the net.

Kuhn delivered seconds later, as the No.1 showed how much taking the lead in the game meant.

And as soon as the German scored, Schmeichel turned to the travelling Celtic faithful, punching the air.

He then ran closer and closer to the byline while continuing to celebrate with the jubilant away fans, punching the air another five times.

It's the kind of passion supporters want to see from their players, especially new signings who are still getting used to their new surroundings.

It seems Schmeichel is settling in well with his, and the fans are taking to him so far.
