Unseen Callum McGregor gesture that shows Celtic captain's class

Celtic captain Callum McGregor showed his class as he ensured the full squad were recognised after the Premier Sports Cup final win over Rangers.

The 31-year-old is used to waiting for all of his team-mates to receive their winners medals before he steps up to lift the trophy but he delayed it a little longer at Hampden.

After the Celtic matchday squad were recognised for the shoot-out win in the showpiece final, McGregor turned to tell Luke McCowan and Stephen Welsh to join the celebrations.

The duo - who were not involved in the matchday squad - looked sheepish as the smiled at McGregor before finally following his orders to join the rest of the team for the trophy lift.

McCowan was unavailable for the final of the competition due to being cup-tied after playing for Dundee in the group stages and second round before his move to Parkhead.

But McGregor was adamant the entire squad would celebrate together with no players left watching on from the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel could also be seen motioning to the duo to get involved before McGregor stepped in.

On commentary, Rory Hamilton said: "Callum McGregor is insisting that everyone joins, it is the full squad effort - even those that were not utilised in the efforts this afternoon."
