UN Security Council renews Sudan sanctions, NGOs say it's not enough

The UN Security Council has unanimously agreed to renew sanctions on Sudan over the devastating toll 18 months of war have taken on civilians. But some human rights activists remain concerned the measures do not go far enough, as violations, abuse and possible war crimes continue.

Also in the programme, Ghana grapples with a huge jump in the number of people trying to take their own lives. The month of September is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and letting those suffering know that they're not alone.

And in Nigeria, tech experts gather to discuss the future of artificial intelligence, as well as the risks and rewards for the continent.
