Nottingham Forest fans are raving about Sam Surridge after he opened the scoring at Peterborough United in a key match for the Reds' play-off aspirations.
Forest had been frustrated for most of the opening 45 minutes, managing just three shots with two directly threatening David Cornell's goal. But the Reds scored in first-half stoppage time to open the scoring at London Road, with Surridge heading home a Brennan Johnson cross to the far-post.
Victory for Forest in Cambridgeshire could be enough for them to have their top six spot confirmed. Steve Cooper’s Reds have given themselves a great chance of making sure they are in the play-off mix, having shot up the Championship table under the Welshman’s stewardship. And they will be eager to make sure they now get over the line.

Surridge has found playing time fairly limited since joining the Reds in the January transfer window. The 23-year-old has started in each of Forest's last two Championship fixtures in the absence of Keinan Davis though, and he has provided plenty of thought for Cooper with a goal in either game.
