It seems as though the price of everything has gone up recently, so if Nando's isn't in your price range at the moment, fear not, because you can recreate the succulent, crispy thighs that you know and love at home thanks to a cooking whizz - and the cooking is all done in his trusty air fryer.
Adam Donnelly aka @adamdonnellypt has taken to TikTok to show his fool-proof way to make juicy Nando's chicken thighs, without the £8.50 price tag. In fact, Tesco is currently selling 1KG of chicken thighs for £2.90, so you can make them for a lot cheaper.
He captioned the video: "Nando's crispy chicken thighs", followed by a fire emoji. The personal trainer also wrote in the caption that each thigh is approximately 130 calories and 20g of protein. Compared to 706 calories for four, this makes the air fryer version healthier.
At the beginning of the video, as he cut into the already-made crispy thighs he said: "Listen to that, wow" as the chicken sizzles.
Adam said that he uses chicken thighs because 'they taste so much better than chicken breast'.
He then explained that you'll need to: "Spray some boneless chicken thighs with olive oil and season with Nando's medium sauce and Nando's medium rub."
You can also make this recipe without an air fryer, so for those of you with one on your Christmas list, don't worry. Also, it can be made with any level of spice sauce and rub you like.
He continued: "Get it in the air fryer or oven for 180 degrees for 20 minutes. "You are going to flip them after the 20 minutes and then put them back in the air fryer for five minutes and they are done."
Adam went on to say that thighs are a little bit fattier than breast, but 'they taste amazing'.
People were quick to say they wanted to try the recipe in the comments, saying how delicious the fake Nando's looked.
"Looks as good as Nando's", one wrote.
Another said: "Did this today. Unreal mate. Your recipes are easy and class."
"Everyone sleeps on chicken thighs…these look boss", someone complimented.
One TikToker suggested: "Could make a mad Sunset burger with this", and Adam responded: "On it bro."
