Unlucky dog who was hit by car is looking for new home for second chance at happiness

An unlucky dog who had a tragic start to life is looking for a loving family to spend the rest of his life with.

Two-year-old Marvel was hit by a car in the streets of Greece as a puppy, and underwent surgery to repair his fractured pelvis and hip.

His bad luck finally changed when international animal organisation, Wild At Heart Foundation (WAHF), scooped him up and transported him to the UK.

Jennifer Musson at WAHF told The Mirror : "Marvel is independent, handsome and playful. His previous injuries do not hold him back - he loves nothing more than to be outside (he would even sleep outside if he could!)

"Marvel loves the feeling of freedom and the great outdoors. He enjoys running free off-lead and likes games that stimulate him mentally.

"He is extremely clever and likes to figure things out during playtime. Marvel is overall great with other dogs, lives peacefully with a cat and loves to be around the people he knows and trusts."

Marvel was rescued from WAHF's partner shelter in Greece in September 2020, and has recently been living with a foster family in Suffolk.

He is looking for a quiet, adult-only environment in a rural setting. While he loves to snuggle by the sofa, he would "spend every waking hour sniffing around the garden" if he could.

A home with a large garden and free-roaming space is therefore ideal.

Marvel is a quick learner and will need some training, so an experienced owner would be preferred.

He does have a bite history caused by the pain he felt during his recovery, but has undergone behaviour assessments and significant improvements have been made.

Marvel requires ongoing pain and medical management and applicants should be aware of this financial commitment.

"Marvel is cheeky and has a very independent personality, but he likes to be in the presence of his people too," Jennifer said.

"He may not be overly affectionate, but he likes to know that his humans are around and is very loyal in this way."

Meet and greets are required for applicants who meet his needs, and an adoption fee of £295 will apply.

If you would like to adopt Marvel and give him a second chance at life, please visit his profile on Wild At Heart Foundation.
