Authorities are currently searching for a missing University of Texas at Dallas student who has been missing for nearly a week. Andrew Li, a 20-year-old student, was last seen on Saturday around 6 p.m. at his on-campus apartment, according to a bulletin shared by the university's police department.
Police have stated that there are no signs of foul play in connection with Li's disappearance and believe that there is no threat to the UT-Dallas campus. However, they are deeply concerned about his whereabouts, as mentioned by UT-Dallas Police Lieutenant Adam Perry.
Li's mother, Ai Ping Zhou, reported that she last spoke with her son on February 22. She tried contacting him on Saturday but received no response. Friends who checked on Li did not find him in his room. While his wallet was missing, his cell phone, backpack, and laptop were still in his room.
State and federal authorities have joined the search for Li, and police have received significant support from these agencies. Perry emphasized that they are taking the situation very seriously, as it is unusual for the campus.
Li is described as an Asian man, 5-foot-11, weighing about 140 lbs., and typically wearing brown wire-framed glasses and a ball cap. Anyone with information on Li's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the police at 972-883-2222.
