The University of Oklahoma campus in Norman will close at 3:30 p.m. CDT due to the potential for severe weather, as announced in a statement on Monday. Instructors are prepared to assist students in rescheduling any final exams that were originally scheduled after 3:30 p.m.
Additionally, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center will also close at 3 p.m. CDT in response to the weather conditions.
Both campuses are facing a rare high risk for severe thunderstorms, rated at Level 5 out of 5, which is affecting parts of Oklahoma and Kansas, including Oklahoma City. The anticipated timing for the onset of these powerful storms is around 5 p.m. CDT, with the potential for them to persist until approximately 12 a.m. CDT on Tuesday.
