Families with toddlers may want to start planning some USA holidays, as Universal Parks and Resorts has revealed it's going to open a new theme park designed for young children.
It will be full of family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, character meet and greets, unique merchandise and food venues targeted at a younger audience.
It will be smaller in size than Universal's other resorts, so as not to overwhelm little ones who may be visiting a theme park for the first time.
A 97 acre plot of land in Frisco, North Texas recently bought by Universal will be used for the park, which doesn't have a name yet, and will feature a number of themed lands, although the themes haven't yet officially been confirmed.
However Universal's president of new ventures, Page Thompson, has given a hint of what they could be.
"Trolls, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Minions, Curious George, Where's Waldo, a lot of characters people love," he told Fox 4 News.
“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the city of Frisco and Mayor Cheney as we work to bring this innovative, new concept to life designed specifically for a younger generation of Universal fans,” Page said.
“We think North Texas is the perfect place to launch this unique park for families given its growing popularity within this part of the country.”
Details of the open date and rides will be published by the company as work begins.
Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney added: “Frisco is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. and has been recognized as a great place to plant professional roots and raise a family.
“This new Universal concept will continue to enhance our tax base, expand employment opportunities and bring even more fun to Frisco benefiting our residents, businesses, and visitors.”
As well as having a number of world class theme park for thrill seekers, the UK's toddler market is already well served by some brilliant attractions.
Foremost among them is arguably Pepper Pig World at Paultons Park.
The resort has an entire land dedicated to the beloved children's character complete with seven themed rides including Peppa's Big Balloon Ride, Miss Rabbit's Helicopter Flight and George's Dinosaur Adventure Ride.
Of course, there are also plenty of meet and greet opportunities so little ones can spend time with their favourite characters - and there's even an on-site toy shop if you want to treat them to an extra memento of the day.
Peppa Pig World is included in the theme park entry fee, and the rest of the park is also tailored to younger kids so there's plenty to see and do, from the roaring dinosaurs in The Lost Kingdom to kid-friendly rollercoasters.
