Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was reported missing by his mother four months ago, as per a police source from the San Francisco Police Department.
Kathleen Mangione informed authorities that she last communicated with her son around July 1. She mentioned that he was employed at TrueCar, an online automotive marketplace. However, the address provided for his workplace was permanently closed, and there was no available phone number.
It was revealed that Kathleen Mangione was unaware of any other locations her son frequented in San Francisco.
Luigi Mangione, aged 26, has pleaded not guilty to charges of forging a document and criminal possession of a firearm in Pennsylvania, where he was apprehended on Monday. He has been denied bail.
Furthermore, Mangione is facing additional charges of murder and weapons possession in New York. Authorities are working on extraditing him to New York to stand trial.
The NYPD reported that a firearm recovered after Mangione's arrest in Pennsylvania matched three shell casings discovered at the crime scene where Thompson was fatally shot.
