"The birds are a delight. Early June was a good time to go as there were so many babies to see, cygnets, goslings, ducklings, baby coots, and, my favourite, baby moorhens. We also had a heron on our doorstep. Absolutely loved the place."
Meanwhile, some people have described the haven as a 'hidden gem'. One review comments: "Absolutely stunning place to stay! Great location which is very peaceful and perfect for escaping for the weekend!
"Had everything we needed to be comfortable. Will be back again!".
Another guest went a step further, heralding the beautiful boathouse as 'majestic'. They said: "'The Four Seasons of Airbnb" is how my other half described it.
"Every little touch made this majestic place more homely. The setting on the loch is breath-taking and the boathouse itself is charming and well thought-out.
"We thought it to be fantastic value for money. Although it was cold outside, we were snug inside."

A comment which summed up the thoughts of many guests, said: "The Boathouse is an absolute hidden gem.
"It’s so cute, we just loved sitting on the veranda listening to the ducks chattering with a glass of wine.
"Brilliant location, very close to Edinburgh. We did part of the fife coastal route, but the grounds of the castle themselves would be enough to entertain with stunning gardens and birds everywhere."
