Union Bears give Rangers welcome home message to Michael Beale with fiery pyrotechnic show

The Union Bears have lit an array of flares at the start of Rangers' Premiership clash with Hibs.

It's a big night in freezing temperatures at Ibrox as Michael Beale takes charge of his first game as manager following the dismissal of Giovanni van Bronckhorst. He's back in the dugout just over a year after leaving his post as assistant and he was given a fiery welcome as an array of pyrotechnics were waiting for him as his team emerged from the tunnel.

Some yellow items made their way onto the park after the light show and Hibs goalkeeper David Marshall was left to literally pick up the pieces himself before assistance was given to him and play delayed for a few minutes. The match has started in horrible fashion for the new Rangers boss though after Ryan Porteous headed the visitors into an early lead off a corner-kick routine, before Kevin Nisbet scored another less than 60 seconds after Fashion Sakala had levelled up.

Celtic currently lead in the title race by nine points and Beale's team desperately need wins to start clawing back the deficit.
