'Unexplained' death of man at Lanarkshire house sparks police investigation

A police probe is underway after the body of a man was found in a house in South Lanarkshire.

Officers were called to a property on Cairneymount Road in Carluke around 2:30pm yesterday (February 1), after being made aware of the sudden death of the 65-year-old.

The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of the sudden death of a 65-year-old man within a property on Cairneymount Road in Carluke at around 2.30pm on Wednesday.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
