The Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike is entering its seventh week as Hollywood TV and film writers demand solutions for AI-based threats, transparent viewership data, and better pay standards. The movement has seen support from high-profile actors, politicians, and creators. This week, there was one particularly spectacular display of support that turned plenty of heads.
A group of recently-unionized strippers came out to show support for the WGA -- and videos of the event make it look like a whole lot of fun. Actor Megan Duffy posted clips of the performances, underscored with strike chants from surrounding crowds.

"It was a great picket!" Duffy told TheStreet in an email. "The dancers who performed at the picket line are from North Hollywood's Star Garden. They unionized earlier this year, after a long fight to do so. They are now proud members of Actor's Equity."

As is the case with many dancers, stripping is an effective way to moonlight -- especially during a strike. "Some of the dancers are WGA writers and use dancing as a way to supplement their income during the long stretches of unemployment that so many WGA writers experience," Duffy explained. "They organized a picket to show their union solidarity."
According to Duffy, at one point, police tried to shut down the performance. "The LAPD tried to get them to take their pole down during the picket, but they were fully permitted, and therefore allowed to continue."
