Finding the perfect cleaning product can be a chore in itself.
But not many people will be aware they have an unexpected product that's perfect for cleaning already in their cupboards - booze.
According to Polly Shearer, the resident cleaning expert at Tap Warehouse, you can use left over alcohol to make your home sparkling clean. Wine, beer and spirits can all be put to good use to help with different cleaning jobs around the home.

And with Dry January taking place, there is no better time than now to use your leftover Christmas booze to make your home gleam. From laundry stains to removing soap scum, Tap Warehouse had all the top tips - here they are.
Banish laundry stains with tequila
Tequila is probably the last thing people want to see after Christmas and New Year. If you have any leftover in your cupboards that you can’t stand the sight of any longer, try using it as a stain remover for oil-based stains on laundry such as lipstick. Simply soak the stain in tequila before washing it.
Clean your pots and pans with beer
Beer is great for cleaning copper pots and pans, and any other copper items for that matter. Simply soak your burnt pots and pans in beer for ten minutes to break down the stains then use a clean wet cloth to remove the stains. This should leave them shining and looking brand new.
Remove kitchen countertop stains with white wine
If you have cooking stains on your kitchen countertops that you can’t get rid of no matter what you try, white wine could be the answer. The easiest way to do this is by transferring the white wine into a spray bottle and spraying it onto the affected area and scrubbing the stains. This will disinfect your countertops as an added benefit too.
Make a multi-purpose cleaner using leftover gin
Gin is a handy product to have in your cleaning cupboard. First of all, it makes a great multi-purpose cleaner, especially when tackling mould and grime. But that’s not the only thing it’s good at cleaning, it is also the secret to streak-free glass and mirrors. Simply spray the gin onto your mirrors and window and wipe with a clean dry cloth to see the results.
Vodka will remove soap scum from your shower
Vodka is probably the alcohol with the most uses when it comes to cleaning your house. If you have soap scum marks in your shower or bath, spray vodka onto it and let it sit for twenty minutes before rinsing it. If there is still some remaining residue left, repeat the steps until it’s fully disappeared.
Vodka is also good for putting the shine back into the chrome fixtures in your bath and shower. Dab some vodka onto a cloth and use it directly on the chrome fixtures.
Use vodka to make a linen spray
Linen spray is more of a luxury than an essential, however, with this trick you can make your own with just three ingredients. In a spray bottle combine half a cup of vodka and half a cup of water along with a few drops of your favourite essential oil. The vodka will help the oil disperse as water and oil don’t mix. As well as this it will help the scent last longer.
