In a lesson of never giving up on your dreams, newly minted Tennessee Titans rookie defensive back Anthony Kendall officially made the 53 man roster. Kendall was unranked as a high school recruit and received little interest from any schools at the Division I level. In lieu of his lack of offers, Kendall made the leap to Division III school Baldwin Wallace University where he played for five seasons.
What makes this story even more miraculous is the fact that Kendall did not play any any college all-star games, and was not even invited to the combine, so instead he took it upon himself to attend three different pro days during the draft process over a one week span. The numbers Kendall put up matched the best athletes at his position in the same draft class, and multiple teams took notice of his excellent athletic ability.
After impressing in training camp both on defense and on special teams, Kendall will have reached his NFL dream and will likely see the field week one of the regular season as a special teams players. It will be interesting to see how Kendall’s inspiring story plays out.
The Titans also had undrafted Caleb Murphy from D-II Ferris State make the initial 53-man roster.
