Underwater teams spotted in Salford Park at centre of murder investigation after boy, 17, stabbed to death

Underwater teams have been spotted at a Salford park where a teenager was stabbed to death.

Clowes Park in Broughton is now the centre of a murder investigation after police found the body of a 17-year-old boy this weekend.

Officers were called to the beauty spot at around 7.30am on Sunday (January 30) after a local dog walker reported finding a man unresponsive.

Another 17-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.

On Monday afternoon (January 31), Clowes Park remained taped off to the public as police continue to carry out their investigations.

Underwater teams could be seen searching the lake - near to where the boy was found.

Forensic officers and Tactical Aid Police were also spotted nearby.

Greater Manchester Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or for anyone with information to come forward.

They are also urging local residents to check CCTV or doorbell footage that could help piece together exactly what happened.

During a press conference at GMP headquarters, Assistant Chief Constable Tony Creely said their investigation remains ongoing.
