SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Warriors, down to their bare bones with eight players sitting, overcame to beat the San Antonio Spurs 124-120 on Tuesday night.
Jonathan Kuminga flipped a dismal 2-for-5 first half shooting night into a scoring spree. Kuminga scored the game-tying layup and Damion Lee the go-ahead three-pointer with two minutes left in the game. It was Lee’s career-high-tying fifth three-pointer made. With the seconds winding down, leads see-sawing, Moses Moody wrangled an offensive rebound off the ground to get Jordan Poole a three to give the Warriors the lead with 18 seconds left.

The fourth quarter burst came when the Warriors looked dead in the water.
By the third quarter, the Spurs could get nearly anything they wanted against the undermanned defense — driving the the rim unscathed, shooting 62% from beyond the arc. The Warriors committed 13 turnovers and the Spurs converted 17 fastbreak points to the Warriors zero before the fourth quarter.
Entering the game, Moody was a career 5-for-35 from three before Monday night’s game in Houston. Early in the third quarter, Moody surpassed his career total, finishing the night 6-for-10, getting three threes on Monday. His six three-pointers are one short of Stephen Curry’s seven for the record of most three-pointers by a rookie in a single game.
Gary Payton II collected a career-high five steals (four was his previous) before limping off the court with about six minutes left in the game.
Kevon Looney, the lone true center active, vacuumed up 10 rebounds by the halftime buzzer. He finished with 12 rebounds.
