An investigation has been launched and extensive forensic examinations, CCTV and witness enquiries were ongoing in the area. The road remained open and no cordon was in place, but officers were seen focusing on one address on the quiet street.

One person told the ECHO he was working and returned home to see the police presence this afternoon. He said he saw a person being taken away via ambulance but was not aware of what had happened.

A neighbour said they weren't aware of anything until police attended the scene and they heard the "commotion". It is believed officers remained on the street for several hours, leaving shortly before 5pm.

If you have any information or witnessed anything suspicious on Hargrave Avenue or the surrounding area last night please contact police as soon as possible.
