The uncle of recently freed hostage Daniella Gilboa has made a heartfelt plea to US President Donald Trump to use his influence in securing the release of all remaining Israeli hostages. Razi Sharabi, Gilboa's uncle, expressed his belief in Trump's ability to make this happen, stating, 'You have the power to do it… Make it happen, Mr. President.'
Sharabi emphasized the importance of bringing all 90 hostages back home, including his cousins Eli and Yossi who are still being held by Hamas. The two cousins were abducted from Kibbutz Be’eri in October and are expected to be part of the later stages of the agreement. Tragically, it was announced in January 2024 that Yossi had been killed while in captivity in Gaza.
Expressing gratitude towards Trump for his support, Sharabi credited the President's election win for enabling the ceasefire-hostage release deal to come to fruition. He praised Trump's business acumen, stating, 'He is a businessman. I believe he knows to identify the right people and where to apply the right pressure… He’s a very strong man.'
Sharabi's plea comes amidst ongoing efforts to secure the safe return of all Israeli hostages, with hopes pinned on Trump's intervention to facilitate the remaining phases of the release agreement. The emotional appeal underscores the deep impact of hostage situations on families and communities, urging swift action for the safe return of all those still held captive.
