A debate over who is the best Premier League set-piece taker of all time has led to Gary Lineker heaping praise on Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Television anchor man Lineker was hosting a Match of the Day podcast, in which pundits Micah Richards and Alan Shearer were tasked with choosing their 10 top dead ball specialists in Premier League history.
Record goal scorer Shearer included Alexander-Arnold in the bottom half of his shortlist, but former England star Lineker believes the Liverpool right-back should be much higher up the pecking order, citing his brilliant corner against Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League semi-final second leg as a prime example why.

Lineker said: “It’s worth putting him higher just because of the corner he took against Barcelona, that was unbelievable wasn’t it? Talk about being ahead of his time, what was he? 21 at the time? It was so clever wasn’t it? You could just see him see it in the corner of his eye. He was just so smart.”
Alexander-Arnold's quick-thinking corner against the Catalan giants has gone down in Anfield folklore. The clever move led to Divock Origi's second goal of the match to secure an incredible 4-0 win for Liverpool that saw the Reds progress to the Champions League Final 4-3 on aggregate, having lost the first leg in the Nou Camp 3-0.
The Liverpool-born fullback, who has travelled to Lisbon for Tuesday night's Champions League quarterfinal first leg tie against Benfica, has weighed in with 17 assists for his club this season, just one shy of his own record of 18, scoring twice in 35 appearances.
