Una Healy ready 'any time' for The Saturdays reunion – even without Rochelle Humes

Una Healy has got The Saturdays fans excited after revealing she would be ready at "any time" for a reunion with the girl group.

The five-piece consisting of the Irish singer, Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King and Vanessa White formed in 2007 and went on to score 13 top ten singles and one chart-topping hit – What About Us featuring Sean Paul.

Remarkably, The Saturdays have been on a hiatus for more than eight years since their last venture into the charts with What Are You Waiting For in August 2014, before the five members went their different ways.

Frankie has become a regular panelist on Loose Women, Mollie co-hosts a show on BBC Radio 1 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with Matt Edmondson and Rochelle has moved into TV presenting, regularly hosts ITV daytime magazine show This Morning and BBC music quiz show Hit List with husband Marvin Humes.

Rochelle had previously ruled out any potential reunion with The Saturdays after insisting she had "checked out of all that" and "couldn't even imagine" the band getting back together.

But Una, 41, fanned the flames which will no doubt get their devoted The Saturdays fans excited during a recent interview.

"I would love to do something with the girls again. I’m ready for it, any time," Una told The Sun.

"If the phone call came to say, ‘You’re going back on tour in six months’, I’d be like, ‘Yes, absolutely, bring it on’. It would be best if it was all five.

"We always said that, if we were ever going to do anything again it would be very important that it’s all five of us. It is possible to do it without one member but I think if it was two or three, I don’t think The Saturdays would be The Saturdays.

"If there was one that didn’t want to, we wouldn’t force them into it and it’s their decision, but it would be so lovely if it was all five of us."

Una is currently embarking on a solo career and released new material on Friday with single This Is Your Life, which she wrote when she was 15 years old but has since revisited and reworked.

She admitted that she was "feeling inspired again" as she looks set to release more tracks after having "no desire to write" during the coronavirus pandemic.
