United Nations experts have strongly criticized US President Donald Trump's proposal to 'take over' Gaza and relocate the Palestinian population elsewhere. The experts have condemned the plan, stating that it would violate fundamental principles of the international order and the United Nations Charter established in 1945 to promote peace after the Second World War and the Holocaust.
The experts emphasized that the proposed mass deportation of civilians from occupied territory is considered a war crime under the Geneva Conventions of 1949, aimed at preventing actions similar to Nazi Germany's expulsion of populations from European countries. They further stated that such actions would constitute a crime against humanity in the present day.

The UN experts warned that implementing Trump's plan would undermine global norms against military aggression and could encourage other countries to engage in territorial seizures, leading to severe consequences for peace and human rights worldwide.
Despite the criticism, President Trump reiterated his intention to assert control over Gaza, claiming US authority over the region. He expressed interest in transforming Gaza into a hub for luxury resorts and office buildings.
